일본 시코쿠 헨로 영장 영험담의유형 및 양상

Abstract

This paper examines the religious worldview of Henro Shikoku by analyzing the types and aspects of 88 temple spiritual stories. The motifs presented in these spiritual stories are classified into the following types: <Temple Origin Type>, <People Relief Type>, <Dystocia Relief Type>, <Disease Cure Type>, <Pure water Type>, and <Apotropaic Type>. A common characteristic of spiritual stories is that the types and aspects of various humanistic motifs centered on the sacredness of Kobo Daishi are developed. In addition, the spiritual characteristics of each temples and the specific places related to them have been preserved and inherited, and thus the perseverance of faith can be noted in Japan's representative investigative pilgrimage where Henro visits Kobo Daishi. Henro's depiction of temples is considered the result of reflecting on the monolithic religious worldview of the sacred place of Kobo Daishi.
