본 연구는 베트남에서 한국기업이 가장 많이 진출한 도시 호치민을 대상으로 한국기업의 입지적 특성을고찰했다. 한국기업은 베트남에서 도이머이 정책이 실시된 1987년부터 진출했으며, 진출 추이는 초창기, 정체기, 확장기, 침체기의 과정을 거치고 있다. 초창기에는 CBD와 그 주변에서 입지가 활발했으며, 정체기에는 신개발지역과도시외곽의 비도시지역에서 입지가 두드러졌다. 확장기에는 외국인 밀집지역과 CBD를 중심으로 기업입지가 활발하게 이루어졌다. 한국기업의 입지는 초기에 도시중심부에서 비도시지역으로 확대되었다가 다시 도시중심부로집중하는 경향으로 보인다. 제조업의 입지는 비도시지역에서 도시 전역으로 확산하고 있으며, 도매 및 소매업은 중심시가지에 주로 입지해 있다. 시간이 흐름에 따라 제조업 중심에서 서비스업 중심의 진출로 변화하면서, 도시내기업 입지에도 변화가 생겼다. 한국기업의 입지 속성을 토대로, 호치민은 서비스업 집중 진출지, 고용창출형 산업진출지, 제조업 집중 진출지, 한국기업 진출 미약지 등으로 지역구분이 가능하다. 한국기업의 진출 형태, 진출 시기, 업종 및 호치민의 도시공간이 지니는 장소성이 입지 차별화의 주요한 요소이다.
Abstract
This research analysed the locational characteristics of Korean companies in Ho Chi Minh City(HCMC), which has the largest number of Korean companies in Vietnam. Korean companies started to make inroads in 1987 when the Doi Moi policy was implemented. The advance of Korean companies is going through a process of initial, stagnant, expansion and decline. In the beginning, many companies entered the CBD and its environs, and in the period of stagnation, companies made inroads into newly developed areas and non-urban areas. During the expansion period, companies actively entered CBD and areas where many foreigners reside. The location of Korean companies was initially expanded from urban center to non-urban areas. Recently, companies are clustering on urban center. Manufacturing is spreading from non-urban area to the whole city, while wholesale and retail are mainly located in city center. According to the attributes of Korean companies, HCMC is divided into service industry concentrated region, employment-generating industry centered region, manufacturing industry centered region, and a region where Korean companies are rare. In sum, the entry type, entry timing, type of business, and the locality of HCMC’s urban space are the main factors that differentiate Korean companies’ locations.
