The purpose of this article is to examine the most effective way of intervention policy on various public language problems. Firstly, this article looks into the concept and types of public language (i.e., public institution, education, knowledge/information, economy, academy/technology, mass culture, cyberspace, etc.). And then, the kinds and characteristics of public language problems(difficult, inaccurate, vulgar, and discriminative public language) are analyzed by reviewing their correlation with the types of public language. Finally, this article is concluded by proposing three ways of intervention policy(strong, moderate, and roundabout intervention) appropriate to each type of public language and each kind of public language problem.
