2022 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 국어과 교과서의 국어사 내용 분석

Abstract

This study critically examines the sections on the history of the Korean language in textbooks reflecting the 2022 revised curriculum and suggests improvements for more effective teaching and learning. The proposed improvements are summarized as follows: First, the Paljongseong(八終聲) in medieval Korean reflects the phonological phenomenon of syllable-final unreleasing in Korean. It is recommended that sound and notation be taught in relation to each other. Second, the example ‘ᄉᆞᄆᆞᆺ디’ in the Humminjeongeum eonhaebon(訓民正音 諺解本) is deemed inappropriate for teaching the Paljongseong of medieval Korean. Third, the Chiljongseong(七終聲) in modern Korean should be described as a general tendency rather than a strict rule, as it is more of an inductive observation by researchers than a fixed phonological regulation, as seen in medieval Korean. Fourth, when using modern period materials in Korean textbooks, it is crucial to verify that these materials accurately reflect the linguistic phenomena of the specific era. A re-examination of the Euiyudangkwanbukyuramilgi(意幽堂關北遊覽日記) shows that it is not suitable for representing the language phenomena of the modern period. Fifth, when explaining medieval language phenomena, it is essential to highlight both their differences from contemporary Korean and their similarities, allowing learners to recognize the continuity between the two periods. This study thus confirms the concrete reality of the content related to Korean language history in newly published Korean textbooks and suggests a foundation for future directions in the more effective teaching of Korean language history.
