(African Commission on Human and People’s Rights: ACHPR),
Abstract
The subject matter of this article is to discuss the dynamic relationships between human rights and (non-armed) conflict situations with focusing on women’s human rights in Africa. With a close attention to African Charter, African Commission on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) and Maputo Protocol on the Rights of Women in Africa, this paper also examines the relationships between African human rights system and African women’s rights at the institutional level of analysis. With a special reference to the implications for the interconnectedness between human rights and (non-armed) conflict situations in Africa, thus, the paper considers first how the issues of African women’s human rights have been substantiated in the conflict situations. In this context, thereafter, it explores how the issues of African women’s human rights have been problematized in the non-armed conflict situations deeply related to socio-cultural factors in Africa.
