‘一+(양사)+NP’ 주어의 한정성 고찰 ― 현저성과 확인가능성을 중심으로
Definiteness of 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' Subject : Focusing on Characteristics of Salience and Identifiability

This paper intends to carry out a comprehensive research on the definiteness of 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject which is a non-typical phenomena in modern Chinese. By an overall study on the grammatical structure and referent characteristics of the 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject construction, the analysis is made from the angle of the pragmatics and cognitive linguistics. In this paper, before discussing the main issue, we introduced characteristics of the 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject construction, and the purpose of explaining characteristics is to serve the following discussion. Subsequently, we argued that the cause of appearance of it in Chinese is that 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject can be definite referents when the referents have characteristics of salience and identifiability. Thus, we could explain fundamental cause of the appearance of 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject in Chinese. Our discussion also revealed various degrees of definiteness of 'yi+(classifier)+Noun Phrase' subject.
