‘一個’의 양상 기능 ― ‘是+(一)個NP’와 ‘一個NP+양상 요소’ 구문을 중심으로
The Modal Function of 'yi+ge'(一個) in Constructions of 'shi+(yi)+ge+ NP' and 'yi+ge+NP+modal elements'

The ‘(yi)+ge’ in chinese serves all the functions characteristic of representative stages of grammaticalization from a numeral to a generalized indefinite determiner. This paper aims to probe the modal function of ‘(yi)+ge’ in constructions of ‘shi+(yi)+ge+NP’ and ‘yi+ge+NP+modal verbs/modal adverbs’. The findings at the textual level lead to the conclusion that the measure word in these constructions tends to be present in a subjective expression that related to the modality. In this paper, we can explain the modal function of ‘(yi)+ge’ is related to the indefinite singular represented a ‘property-generic’ and a pronoun ‘one’ which can be analysed as an anaphoric element in English.
