梁白華의 《빨래하는 처녀》에 대하여

Abstract

This paper investigates 《the maid with laundering》 the full-length historical novel written by Baek-wha Gun-sik Yang (1889-1944) who worked as a novelist and a translator of chinese literature from the 1910s to 1930s. In particular, it focused on the values and meanings of 《the maid with laundering》as a modern historical novel which had never been properly noticed contrary to those short stories such as<The Stone Lion Statues>(石獅子像), <The Sad Inconsistency>(슬픈 矛盾) in 1910s. It doesn't reflect the reality of the Joseon Dinasty, writing materials had been adopted from the ancient history of China, and serious consideration in its ideological aspects has not seen on this novel. However, it would be granted the literary value on the aspects that the representative figures such as ‘Xi-Shi(西施)’, ‘Fan-li(范蠡)’, ‘Wu-Zixu(伍子胥)’ represent relatively successful typicality in the work and refined expressions by the manner of the developing the story through the vibrant dialogues. In addition, the general plot portrayed with speed and punch by the imagination based on the fragmentary historical fact may be considered to determine his special writing style. As a result, 《the maid with laundering》 created using the famous historical topics of China would be the significantly meaningful data showing the singularity of writing materials and the feature of the full-length novelist of Gun-sik Yang.
