농촌 노인 가구의 사회적 관계망의 기능에 관한 연구:전남 지역을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 60세 이상 농촌에서 혼자 살거나 부부만 살고 있는 노인가구의 비공식적 관계망의 기능을 분석하는 것이다. 네 가지 종류의 관계망 - 친구, 이웃, 형제자매, 자녀 -을 선택하여 이 관계망이 수행하고 있는 기능들을 네 가지 차원 - 신체 서비스적 기능, 정서적 기능, 경제적 기능, 의례적 기능 -에서 분석하였다. 분석결과 본 연구의 농촌 노인들은 정서적 교류는 친구를 통해, 신체 서비스적 기능은 이웃을 통해, 의례적 기능은 형제자매와 자녀를 통해 가장 많이 해결하고 있었다. 선행연구들에서처럼 자녀는 농촌노인들에게 가장 중요한 비공식적 집단으로 인식되고 있었지만, 그 중요성은 급하고 어려운 일이 있을 때의 상담원과 공급원으로서의 의미에 한정되고 있었다. 매일 매일의 일상생황에서는 오히려 친구와 이웃의 중요성이 컸었다.
Abstract
This study explores the functions of the informal networks of rural elders. Four types of groups - freinds, neighbors, brothers and sisters, and children- were selected as the informal groups and were examined in terms of four types of functions - physical, emotional, economic, and ritual functions. The results of the study show that emotional needs of the elders were satisfied the most through friends, the physical needs through neighbors, ritual needs through brothers and sisters. Economic needs were not highly met through any of the informal groups. The results of the study suggest that the role of the children away from the rural parents is decreased and the role of neighbors and friends in everyday life of rural elders is increased.
