국제사회의 농업환경이 변화하면서 친환경농업은 많은 국가에서 강화되고 있고, 친환경농업의 실현에는 농가의 생산단계에서부터 이에 관한 정확한 인식과 의사결정이 중요하나 현재 우리는 이에 미약한 실정이다. 농업이 부부 중심의 농가경영 형태로 전환되는 점에서 여성농업인은 중요한 인적자원으로 이들이 친환경농법을 수용하고 실현하는데 기여하는 측면을 파악할 필요가 있다. 이 연구의 주요질문은 1)농가의 친환경농업기술 전달체계는 어떠한가 2) 농가내 성별 노동 활동은 어떻게 다른가? 이다. 분석결과 여성농업인은 주요작업과정 보다는 주변작업에 주로 참여하였고, 의사결정비율은 26%로 아주 낮았다. 또한 여성의 친환경농업 지식수준은 남성과 비교하여 낮았으며 교육기회, 정보망 등 남성(남편) 의존적으로 성차가 뚜렷하였다.
Abstract
In most countries environment-friendly agriculture has been emphasized at farm level. However, at present, information on farmer's decision-making process for plant production and protection is very much lacking. Furthermore, the role of women farmers has been overlooked, even with women serving not as assistants but as growers and owners of the farms. Hence, the major question of this study were: (1) What are the necessary steps taken by a farm in deciding the appropriate technology? and (2) What is the difference of farm activities in terms of gender?" This study revealed that the level of women’s knowledge on EFAT (Environment-friendly Agricultural Technology) was low compared with that of men. And the level of participation in decision making on EFAT marked at 26.0% was also low.
