본 연구의 목적은 지적장애인이 인식하는 서비스제공자와의 관계유형과 관계유형의 분포를 파악하는 것이다. Q방법론을 활용하여 지적장애인이 인식하는 서비스제공자의 관계를 분석해 본 결과 이용자중심 관계, 위계적 관계, 상호의존 관계라는 3가지 유형으로 도출되었다. 인식유형의 분포를 살펴보기 위한 서베이 조사에서는 양자의 관계를 위계적 관계로 인식하는 비율이 가장 높게 나타났다. 최근 장애인복지서비스에서 이용자의 참여 및 자기결정의 강조는 서비스제공자와 이용자와의 관계 양상에 대한 변화를 요구하고 있다. 이런 맥락에서 본 연구의 결과는 지적장애인 이용자와 서비스제공자와의 관계에 대한 논의의 토대를 제공할 수 있을 것이며, 지적장애인의 자기결정을 강조하는 지지적인 실천을 발전시키는데 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out perception types of service users with intellectual disability on the relationships with their service workers who provide residential and domiciliary care services. For this purpose, this study adopted two research methods: Q-methodology and survey. This study found out three major types of users’ perception on the relationships with their service workers. The first type is perceiving relationship as user centered. The second is perception of domination by service workers. The third is perception of mutual interdependency. In the result of survey research in which respondents are intellectually disabled people using residential care homes or community service centers, the perception type of domination by service workers shows highest frequency. Recently, in the area of personal social service for the disabled people, disabled people are requesting their participation and self-determination in the process of service provision. In this context, making change of relationships between service users and service worker is raised as important issue. In this environment, the results of this study could be useful to develop empowering practice supporting users with intellectual disability.
