Abstract
The child poverty is caused by increasing family dismantling and unstable employment in Korea. This study examined the relationship among child well-being, poverty, and family structure, using data from the fourth wave of the Korean Survey of Child Wellbeing. The latent profile Analysis revealed four class of children, reflecting high, highmoderate, moderate-high, low patterns of child well-being index. We then investigated the poverty and dismantling of their family affect child well-being index across classes using multinomial logistic regression. As the result of analyzing, there are differences in the probability of belonging to the latent classes of child well-being index according to four family types. Children in poor and single parent family are more likely to belong to the lower class of child well-being than the other family types. The results of this analysis show the necessity of expanding the targeted social protection services for children in poor and single-parent family, based on the universal child care program.
