Abstract
This study was conducted by applying a two-level multilevel model and analyzing it as an HLM 7.03 statistical package program to verify the effect of neighborhood-level collective efficacy on children’s school bullying behavior. To this end, the “2013 Children’s Comprehensive Survey” was used, and 1,971 children aged 9 to 17 who nested in 108 residential neighborhoods (administrative district units) except for missing values were used for final analysis. As a result of the multilevel analysis, it was proved that the collective efficacy at the neighborhood-level has the effect of significantly lowering the level of school bullying behaviors even when the various variables of the individual level of the child and the structural characteristic variables of the neighborhood level are controlled. Based on the results of this study, effective measures were discussed at the neighborhood level to prevent and solve school bullying problems.
