초록
Self-report instruments have been grown with more accurately and reliably in western society to measure physical activity. However, in South Korea, most tools used for Korean seem to have not yet been properly developed or used according to the recommendations of researchers outside South Korea. The purpose of this study therefore was to identify and evaluate self-report instruments used for Korean children and adolescents in measuring physical activity according to a systematic review. After deciding inclusion criterion, all possible studies on this particular aim were investigated by characteristics and capabilities of each instruments. Four studies were met for this study of aim. On characteristics, all the instruments had no name, no segmented day, no cartoon illustrations and no multimedia which researchers have recommended that these can improve the results. Only one of them have used an activity list to help participants recall their activities. On capabilities, there was no instrument to measure all the type, duration, frequency, and intensity of physical activity at one time. There was no instrument to measure any of the school activities, the home activities, and the out of school and home activities thoroughly. Development of better self-report instrument is required to increase our knowledge of Korean children and adolescents' physical activity.
