2022년 캄보디아는 효과적인 방역 정책과 다양한 경제 지원책을 동원해 코로나19 위기를 극복하고 제로 코로나를 선언했다. 경제는 주력 산업의 위축에도 불구하고 5% 성장을 달성했다. 인민당 정부는 이러한 성과를 바탕으로 지방선거에서 압승을 거두고 2023년 총선 승리를 예약했다. 외교 부문에서는 아세안 의장국의 의무를 충실히 수행하며 국제사회에서의 입지를 넓혔으나 친중 편향성이 야기한 군사기지 문제로 미중 갈등의 볼모가 되었다.
Abstract
In 2022, Cambodia overcame the COVID-19 crisis by mobilizing effective quarantine policies and various economic support measures and declared zero corona. The economy achieved 5% growth despite contraction in key industries. Based on these achievements, the Cambodia People's Party won a landslide victory in local elections and booked victory in the upcoming 2023 general election. Cambodia performed its duties with success as an ASEAN chair country, expanding its position in the international community. But Cambodia failed to escape from the US-China conflict due to the military base issue caused by its propensity toward China.
