Abstract
Even after handing over the position to his son Hun Manet in 2023, Hun Sen remains in power as president of the Senate and the ruling party to protect the new government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet. Hun Manet has promised to improve the quality of life through welfare and economic development, while consolidating power by suppressing the opposition and controlling the media, as his father did. The economy has continued to grow with a recovery in manufacturing and tourism, which has helped the hereditary government maintain stability. In international relations, progress has been made in improving relations with the United States amid China's growing influence, and the Hun Manet government has sought to diversify foreign relations rather than adhere to superpowers.
