Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between job stresses (role conflict and role ambiguity)and employee’s job attitudes (job satisfaction and affective organizational commitment) concerning the function of social supports from supervisors and co-workers in companies. We hypothesized the effects of internal organizational social supports into three ways: Buffering, preventing, and coping effects. As we expected, the perception of internal organizational social supports negatively related to job stresses (preventing effects) and job attitudes (coping effects). However,it did have buffering effect in that it did not moderate the relationship between job stress and job attitudes. Practical implications, limitations, and future research for aviation service industry suggestions were discussed.
