초록

The regional finance theory says that, due to asymmetric information, interregional interest rates may be different, credits can be rationed, and deposits of a region can be transferred to another region, especially to financial center. But in fact the regional financial problem is the problem whose creditworthiness is weak. The small financial institutions located in the regions and supply credits to them take much more risks than the large financial institutions. As the large institutions which seize the higher position in the hierarchy of financial institutions enlarge their operational grounds, the small institutions are getting worse. For the smooth reproduction of the national economy and for the stabilization of the society, it is important to supply enough credits to those whose creditworthiness is weak. Therefore the government should pay special attention to the small regional institutions.
