1970~80년대 농촌마을에서의 종재와 종계의 정치사회적 의미 - 최내우의 『창평일기』와 종계장부를 중심으로 -

This study analyzed the management pattern and the socio-political meanings of lineage property and lineage financial organization during 1970s and 1980s through ‘Changpyoung Diary’ and lineage accounting documents written by Choi Naewoo who lived in Changinli village, Imsil county, Jeollabukdo province. Three major findings were discussed. First, there were antinomies and tensions over lineage properties. But these antinomies were not exploded but dissolved through the reciprocity and responsibility as members of blood community. Second, only existing lineage members could join in the lineage financial organization and lineage property was functioning for the interests of existing members. Third, lineage property and financial organization were closely connected to non-lineage villagers and outsiders through lineage credit system, tenancy of lineage lands, and ancestral ritual preparation. This paper shows that the influences of lineage property and financial organization went beyond lineage members and that lineage property and financial organization were intertwined with local and regional communities and social networks. Lineage organization tried hard not only to consolidate the solidarity of its members and but also to win regional prestige in the area through the manipulation of ancestral rituals, lineage property, and financial organization.
