The aim of this study was to examine vocabulary use in speaking and writingusing materials that included actual examples of written and spoken languages. Inaddition, another aim was to describe the distinctions and characteristics of the useof Korean conjunctive adverbs based on spoken and written registers. The first thing to do when describing grammatical phenomena is to examinematerials that include actual examples of a language where the grammaticalphenomena occur. Description of grammatical phenomena based on theobservation of the actual use of a language will greatly help people understand thereal overall system of the language. In a study on a language based on materials about actual language use, theestimated results of a corpus can be a basis for gaining objectivity while explainingthe results of the research on the language. For the estimated results to obtaingrammatical values, it is important to describe language use patterns shown in theregisters that include linguistic forms in the results.
