본 연구는 연구개발투자와 설비투자가 기업의 성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 검증하기 위하여 먼저 검증 기간의 표본 기업 전체를 대상으로 투자와 성과간의 관련성을 검증하고, 연구개발 지출 증가 기업과 연구개발 지출 감소 기업으로 구분하여 각각의 집단에서 투자와 기업성과간의 관련성을 검증하였다. 연구개발 투자 증가 기업과 감소기업의 평균을 대상으로 두 집단의 주요한 변수에 대한 평균차이 검증(t－검증)을 실시한 결과 두 집단간의 평균차이가 유의한 값을 가지는 것은 연구개발투자, 연구개발투자증가, 금융비용, 부채비율이다. 투자와 기업성과의 관련성을 검증해보기 위한 회귀분석의 결과 표본 기업 전체를 대상으로 하였을 경우에는 설비투자와 총투자, 연구개발투자는 기업성과에 유의적인 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구개발투자 증가 기업만을 대상으로 한 회귀분석 결과에서는 설비투자와 총투자, 연구개발투자 및 연구개발투자증가 모두 기업성과에 유의적인 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구개발투자 감소 기업을 대상으로 한 회귀분석 결과를 살펴보면 설비투자와 총투자만 기업성과에 유의적인 양(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper analyses The Effect of the R＆D Investment and Capital Investment on the Firm's Performance, comparing companies increasing in R＆D Investment and companies decreasing in R＆D Investment. Using the Korean listed companies of 1996－2002 data, it established research model. It used 4－types investment as independent variables, sales growth as dependent variable.As results of T－test in two group, significant variables are R&D expenditure, R&D expenditure growth, financing cost, leverage.As results of regression analysis using total sample companies, it has been proved significant positive relationship in experiment investment, total investment, R&D investment and firm's sales growth. As results of regression analysis using companies increasing in R＆D Investment, it has been proved significant positive relationship in experiment investment, total investment, R&D investment, R&D investment growth and firm's sales growth. As results of regression analysis using companies decreasing in R＆D Investment, it has been proved significant positive relationship in experiment investment, total investment.
