본 연구는 연구개발투자가 기업의 경영성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. 2010년 한국 R&D Scoreboard 1000대 기업 중 259개 기업을 표본으로 추출하여 2000년부터 2009년까지 연구개발투자가 매출액에 미치는 영향을 회귀분석 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2000년부터 2009년까지 연구개발투자는 경영성과, 즉 2000년부터 2009년까지 매출액에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 발견하였다. 연구개발투자를 하면 매출액을 증가시키는데 기여하며, 연구개발 집중도가 높을수록 매출액이 증가한다는 선행연구(Grabowski and Mueller, 1978; Lev and Sougiannis, 1996; Tubbs, 2007)를 지지하고 있다. 둘째, 제조업은 매출액에, 코스피 상장기업은 매출액에, 기업규모가 클수록 매출액에, 고기술산업은 매출액에, 경영자지분율이 높을수록 매출액에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 발견하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the effects of investment of R&D on a company's performances. 259 companies are chosen as samples from top 1,000 companies in a Korean R&D Scoreboard and the effects of R&D investment in a company's performance. The conclusions are as following. First, it is found that a size of R&D budget has a positive effect on sales from 2000 to 2009. This is consistent with the results from previous studies (Grabowski and Mueller, 1978; Lev and Sougiannis, 1996; Tubbs, 2007) that increasing R&D investment and concentrating on R&D contributes to the increase of sales. Second, it is found that a high-tech, KOSPI listed company with big size and high equity ratio for manager in the manufacturing industry have a positive effect on sales.
