본 연구는 한국거래소 유가증권시장에 상장된 정보통신제조업체를 대상으로 기술혁신 결정요인을 분석하였다. 연구모형은 Romer(1990)에서 시작되는 내생적 경제성장모형의 지식생산함수를 이용하였으며, 새로이 창출된 기술의 양은 특허청의 기업별 특허출원수로 측정하였다. 분석결과 연구개발집약도 및 기술수준은 기술혁신에 양(+)의 유의한 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 기업의 내적 특성 변수인 자본집약도와 자산회전율은 역시 기술혁신에 양(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 부채비율, 수출비중 및 관계사 매입·매출비중은 유의하지 않았다. 관계사 매입·매출비중의 비유의한 결과는 기술혁신을 위해 경영자가 새로운 거래구조를 모색할 필요성이 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study investigates the determinants of technology innovation over the period 2001-2005 in the Korean telecommunication companies using the data of firm-level applied patents. Expecially this paper uses knowledge production function of endogenous economic growth theory designed by Romer(1990). The empirical results of this study are as follows. First, R&D intensity and the level of technology raise the firm's technology innovation. Second, the technology innovation is positively and significantly correlated with capital intensity and turn-over ratio of assets. However, debt and export ratio are not significant. third, there exists no significant relationship between the technology innovation and sales ratio of affiliated companies. This study suggests that a CEO has to consider the new business relations to promote the technology innovation of firms.
