위대한 마법사 오즈를 활용한 유학 인성론의 주요 개념 설명 방법 연구

본 연구는 대학교 교양 수업에서 유학의 인성론을 효과적으로 전달하는 방법을 찾아보기 위해 위대한 마법사 오즈의 내용과 등장인물을 통해 유학 인성론의 주요 개념을 설명해 보고자 하였다. 위대한 마법사 오즈의 이야기 구조를 따라 유학 인성론의 주요 개념인 ‘방심(放心)’과 ‘구방심(救放心)’ 그리고 성(性)의 의미를 살펴보았다. 그리고 허수아비가 갖고 싶어 했던 ‘뇌’, 양철나무꾼이 갖고 싶어 했던 ‘심장’, 사자가 갖고 싶어 했던 ‘용기’를 유학 인성론의 ‘지(知)’, ‘인(仁)’, ‘의(義)’에 담긴 의미로 탐색해 보았다. 다시 말해 이 연구는 각각의 등장인물을 통해 유학 인성론의 주요 개념인 성(性), 심(心), 지(知), 인(仁), 의(義)의 내용을 소개해 보고자 한 것이다.
Abstract
This study aimed to explore effective ways to convey Confucian human nature theory in a university general education class. To achieve this, it sought to explain the main concepts of Confucian human nature theory by utilizing the content and characters of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This study examined the meanings of 'fangsim' (放心), 'gufangsim' (救放心), and 'nature(性)', which are the main concepts of Confucian personality theory, by following the story structure of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Furthermore, it explored the meanings embedded in 'wisdom(智)', 'benevolence(仁)', and 'righteousness(義)' of Confucian personality theory by examining the 'brain' that the Scarecrow wanted, the 'heart' that the Tin Woodman wanted, and the 'courage' that the Lion wanted. In other words, this study aimed to introduce the contents of 'nature(性)', 'mind(心)', 'wisdom(智)', 'benevolence(仁)', and 'righteousness(義)', which are the main concepts of Confucian personality theory, through each character.
