제20대 대선에서 윤석열 후보의 승리배경: 이재명 후보의 포퓰리즘과 네거티브 캠페인 전략의 실패*

본 글의 목적은 1위와 2위의 순위가 0.73%포인트 격차로 승패가 결정이 난 제20대 대선결과의 의미를 윤석열 후보의 승리가 아닌 이재명 후보의 패배에 따른 결과로 보면서, 그 패배의 원인을 숙의투표에 반하는 이재명 후보의 포퓰리즘과 네거티브 캠페인으로 설명하여 반성적 성찰을 촉구하는 데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서 첫째, 이론적 배경으로 숙의투표와 이에 반하는 포퓰리즘과 네거티브 캠페인의 악영향에 대해 살펴본다(제Ⅱ장). 둘째, 여론조사기관의 20대 대선 사후조사와 방송3사의 출구조사에서 드러난 유권자의식과 투표행태를 통해 각 후보의 승패원인을 추론한다(제Ⅲ장). 셋째, 민주당 당내 경선시기와 본선 경쟁시기에서 드러난 이재명의 포퓰리즘과 네거티브 캠페인의 사례를 살펴본다(제Ⅳ장). 넷째, 결론에서 전체를 요약한다(제Ⅴ장).
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to view the meaning of the results of the 20th presidential election, in which the winners and losers were decided by a 0.73 percentage point difference between the first and second place rankings, as the result of the defeat of candidate Jae-Myung Lee rather than the victory of candidate Seok-Yeol Yoon. The goal is to call for reflective reflection by explaining candidate Jae-Myung Lee’s populism and negative campaign against deliberation voting. To achieve this objective, first, as a theoretical background, we examine the adverse effects of deliberation voting and opposing populism and negative campaigns(Chapter Ⅱ). Second, the causes of victory and defeat of each candidate are inferred through the voter consciousness and voting behavior revealed in the post-election survey of the 20th presidential election by the opinion polling agency and the exit survey of the three broadcasting companies(Chapter Ⅲ). Third, we look at the cases of Jae-Myung Lee’s populism and negative campaigns revealed during the primary and final competition period within the Democratic Party(Chapter Ⅳ). Fourth, the whole is summarized in the conclusion(Chapter Ⅴ).
