국내 항공 산업의 경쟁 관계 분석에 관한 연구: 국내선 여객운송을 중심으로

우리나라의 항공운송시장은 1988년 서울올림픽, 1989년 해외여행 완전자유화, 2001년 인천국제공항의 개항, 2005년 LCC의 사업 참여로 괄목할 만한 성장을 하였다. KOTI에서 발표한 항공운송서비스 평가 결과, LCC의 가격 우위와 대형항공사와의 서비스 차이 저하로 국내 항공운송시장의 경쟁이 치열하게 전개되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2000년부터 2016년까지 대한항공, 아시아나, 에어부산, 이스타항공, 제주항공, 진에어, 티웨이항공의 월별 여객 자료를 바탕으로 항공사 간 경쟁 관계를 분석하였다. 분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 시계열 자료의 안정성 여부를 검증하기 위해 단위근 검정을 실시하였다. 단위근 검정 결과, 단위근이 존재하는 불안정한 시계열로 분석이 되었다. 단위근을 갖는 시계열들이 공적분되어 있다면 시계열을 사용해서 예측모형을 만들 수 있다는 이론에 근거하여 공적분 검정을 실시하였다. 공적분 검정 결과 3개의 공적분이 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 세 번째, 항공사 간 경합 관계를 분석하기 위해 그랜저 인과관계를 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 대형항공사와 LCC 간, LCC 간 경쟁 관계가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막 VECM 모형과 그 충격반응함수 분석 결과, 수요의 1% 변화가 경쟁 항공사에 미치는 영향이 막대한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
It studies the competitive relation among air carriers which are Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air, Jin Air and T’way Air with monthly passenger statistics from 2000 to 2016. First of all, it performs unit root tests to verify the stability of time series data and it shows non-stable time series data with unit root. Secondly, the cointegration test is conducted based on the theory that the forecasting model can be made if the time series data with root unit were cointegrated. As a result of the test, three cointegrations are found. Thirdly, granger casuality tests are conducted to analyse competitive relationships among airlines and the result is that there exist competitive relationships between FSCs and LCCs, and among LCCs. At the conclusion, the result of vector error correction model(VECM) and its impulse response function analysis show that 1% demand change make enormous influence on airlines in competition.
