Abstract
In this article, I aim to study modern Chinese literature from the liberation of August 15, 1945 to the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, bibliographically, and to examine the literary or cultural significance of each writing or book. In this article, I will study the translated materials, and for the sake of descriptive convenience, I will divide them into translated writings and translated books. Despite the fact that the level of understanding and translation of Chinese literature was very poor during the liberation period, the overall achievement of Chinese literature was remarkable compared to that of the Japanese colonial period. The fact that the achievement was accomplished in a short period of five years, overcoming the political and economic turmoil and stagnation of the time, is primarily related to the research on modern Chinese literature accumulated during the Japanese colonial period, as well as the media policy of the US military government, which was relatively lax and free compared to the harsh censorship system of the Japanese colonial period. More importantly, however, it is deeply related to the zeitgeist and critical mind of the researchers who introduced modern Chinese literature at the time. In other words, the achievements of translations during the liberation period can be attributed to the positive attitude of accepting the experience of the Chinese literary movement and the results of artistic creation as the main reference system for the construction of a new nation and the literary movement for this purpose.
