Abstract

In the first and second curriculum, the education of Korean traditional music was very trivial. Gukak Arts High School provided music teachers with the sessions of Traditional Korean music education. In this study, we looked at the process and progress of the teacher's traditional Korean music sessions and identified the instructors who taught the teachers with the help of teaching and learning resources and newspapers. Also, we analyzed the contents of the teacher's class through the contents of the textbook. The Korean traditional music class was held for 10 days from August 5, 1960. The purpose of the sessions was to fill the gap in the light of the knowledge of the Korean Traditional music and to strengthen the curriculum. This is very meaningful in that it is the first Korean traditional music training for teachers, which is very important for the spread of Korean traditional music education. The instructors were all made up of teachers at the Korean Traditional Music Art High School, and the majority of them were designated as intangible cultural properties, indicating that they had received guidance from very outstanding artists. After analyzing the training materials, I guided the theory and practical skills together, and it was composed of various genres such as Jeongak and folk music,and I used Oh Seon-bo to help the music teachers of the general school who were familiar with Western music. Korean traditional music lessons for music teachers at general schools, which were created with the mission of Gugak musicians during the early period of Korea's education, have become an important foundation for the formation of Korean traditional music education.
