음악과 동작의 통합 활동 교수-학습 과정에서 나타난 유아 반응 탐색

본 연구는 음악과 동작의 통합 활동을 실시하는 교수-학습 과정에서 유아의 반응 양상이 어떻게 변화하는가를 탐색하는 것이 목적이다. Gordon의 음악학습 원리를 적용한 음악과 동작의 통합 활동을 구성하고 만 5세 유아 24명을 연구대상으로 주 2～3회씩 15주 총 35회에 걸쳐 통합 활동을 실시하였다. 유아들의 반응 양상을 분석하기 위하여 연구 보조자의 참여관찰, 연구자 본인의 저널쓰기, 담임교사와의 면담자료, VTR과 디지털 카메라 촬영을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였고, 이를 전사하여 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 활동 초기에 교사가 육성으로 부르는 가사 없는 무 음절 노래를 낯설어하고 반응이 없던 유아들은 점차 교사가 노래를 시작하면 관심을 기울여 적극적으로 듣는 태도를 보였다. 교수-학습 과정의 침묵활동을 통해 유아들은 음과 리듬이 들리지 않아도 사고과정을 통해 마음속으로 인지하는 기회를 가졌으며, 이를 통해 소리가 들리지 않아도 마음속으로 노래를 기억하며 동작으로 표현하게 되었다. 또한 활동 초기에 획일적인 반응을 보이고 교사와 또래를 의식하고 모방하는 동작표현을 하던 유아들은 활동이 진행되어 감에 따라 점차 음악의 즐거움을 자연스럽게 신체로 표현하였고, 신체의 여러 부분을 인식하고 스스로 조절해 가면서 다양하고 창의적인 동작으로 표현하게 되었다.
Abstract
This study examines children’s responses to the instruction-learning process of an integrated activity based on Gordon’s Music Learning Method. Subjects were 24 five year old kindergarten children (12 boys, 12 girls). Data collection drew from participatory observation, researcher journal and a classroom teacher interview. When more specific data were necessary to obtain, video and digital cameras were used. All data were described, analyzed, and interpreted. The main findings in this study are as follows: The children who participated in the integrated activity showed desirable changes in many ways through their music listening attitude was the one that changed most remarkably. At the beginning of the activity, probably because they were unaccustomed to the process, the children, were unable to listen attentively while the researcher sang a song without words. However, gradually, the children listened attentively to the researcher’s singing without words. During the silence activity, the children began to think carefully about the tone and rhythm of the music. This opportunity for reflection was not afforded to the children in the comparison group. At the end of the activity’s application, the children could concentrate and listen to the tone and rhythm of the music. As for movement, the children demonstrated only predictable, unimaginative body expression at the beginning but, gradually they began to control their body movements and to express themselves freely and creatively.
