철학적 탐구공동체 활동을 통한유아의 배려적 사고 증진에 관한 연구

본 연구는 철학적 탐구공동체 활동을 통하여 유아의 배려적 사고를 증진시키고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 5세 유아를 대상으로 철학적 탐구공동체 활동을 일주일에 2회, 25분～30분씩, 12주 동안 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 철학적 탐구공동체 활동은 유아의 배려적 사고 증진에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 철학적 탐구공동체 활동을 통해 형성된 이러한 유아의 배려적 사고는 유아교육기관에서의 일상생활 속에서 배려를 실천하는 행동으로 나타남으로써, 유아의 배려적 사고 수행능력이 증진되었음을 확인시켜주었다.
Abstract
This study examines enhancing caring thinking in young children through a community of philosophical inquiry (CPI). The subjects of this study were 45, 5-year old children in S Kindergarten in Seoul divided into an experimental group of 22 and a comparison group of 23. The experimental group was divided into 2 groups each with 11 children with whom the community of philosophical inquiry was conducted while the regular kindergarten curriculum was maintained with the children in the comparison group. For this study, a translation of The Doll Hospital (Sharp, 2000) was used as text. Fifteen leading ideas taken from the philosophical story and exercises and discussion plans from a teacher manual (Sharp & Splitter, 2000) were used. A discussion (25～30min. long) was conducted for 12 weeks (Mar.～Jul. 2007) twice a week. The results of this study indicate that CPI influences caring thinking in young children as the experimental group showed a meaningful increase in the ability to engage in caring thinking after their CPI sessions.
