본 연구는 만 3, 4, 5세 유아의 또래유능성과 놀이성이 학습행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 연구대상은 충청남도 및 수도권 지역의 유치원에 재원 중인 265명의 유아이며 유아의 또래유능성, 놀이성, 학습행동에 대한 설문을 해당 유아의 담임교사가 평정하도록 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS와 AMOS 프로그램을 이용하여 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 상관분석, 구조모형 분석을 통해 연구모형에 대한 검정을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아의 또래유능성은 학습행동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아의 학습능력을 설명하는데 있어 또래관계, 대인관계기술이나 사회성 발달이 중요한 변인이 됨을 의미한다. 둘째, 유아의 놀이성은 학습행동에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 놀이성과 학습행동의 관계를 살펴보는데 있어 놀이성의 하위영역, 부정적 학습행동을 판단하는 기준, 다양한 매개변인 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 살펴볼 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study examined structural relationships among 3-to 5-year-old children’s peer competence, playfulness, and learning behaviors. It analyzed the direct influence of child’s peer competence and playfulness on learning behaviors. The study subjects were 265 children who attend kindergartens located in Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeonggi-do areas. A survey questionnaire was distributed to the children’s teachers. For the analysis this study set the research model as peer competence, playfulness as an independent variable, and learning behaviors as a dependent variable. The sample was analyzed using SPSS and AMOS program. The results showed that children’s peer competence had a significant positive effect on learning behaviors. Although children’s playfulness did not show a significant effect on learning behaviors, the results suggested that children’s playfulness may have a negative effect on learning behavior. Discussions included suggestions to enhance children’s positive learning behaviors through enhancing peer competence. Also, the results indicated that the causal relationship between children’s playfulness and learning behaviors needs to be analyzed synthetically considering the types and characteristics of plays and various mediating variables.
