Abstract
This study compares social perceptions of kindergarten and childcare teachers using big data keyword network analysis. Data were collected from online sources between March 2022 and March 2025, incorporating active discussions of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC). The keywords for each group were extracted to build keyword networks. The results were as follows. For kindergarten teachers, frequent keywords included teacher, kindergarten, young children, certification, education, and public institutions, showing a high centrality. The childcare teachers’ keywords included certification, daycare center, childcare, teacher training, and children with disabilities, also with strong centrality. The CONCOR cluster analysis revealed key thematic clusters in each network. The kindergarten teacher network focused on issues related to private kindergartens, while the childcare teacher network emphasized retraining and professional development amid ECEC integration. These findings indicate distinct social perceptions shaped by different institutional contexts and policy debates, as education and care boundaries become blurred. This study highlights the need for better social recognition and balanced support for both professions.
