원격대학 학습자의 연령 및 성별에 따른 스마트패드용 전자교재 사용의도에 대한 기술수용모형 분석

이 연구의 목적은 원격대학 전자교재 개발을 위한 학습자 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인관계를 분석하기 위해서 실시되었다. 원격대학은 다양한 연령대의 성인학습자를 대상으로 하고 있기 때문에 학습자의 연령 및 성별에 따른 분석을 실시했다. 총 2,999명의 학습자가 설문에 참여했으며, 연령별로 20대=583명, 30대=863명, 40대=960명, 50대=593명으로 구성되었다. 기술수용모형을 적용하기 위하여 매체에 대한 자아효능감, 주관적 규범, 매체유용성, 매체용이성, 태도로 구성된 기저모형을 구성했다. 기술수용모형에 대한 모형적합도는 카이제곱, TLI, CFI, RMSEA 지수에 따라서 모형적합도를 평가했다. 세 가지 중요한 연구결과를 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 연령대에 따라 사용의도가 매우 다르게 나타났다. 이 결과는 앞으로 원격대학에서 전자교재를 개발하기 위해서는 연령대의 특징과 요구를 반영해야 한다는 점을 의미한다. 둘째, 전자교재를 적용 및 확대하기 위해서는 전자교재의 편리성과 유용성에 대한 인식이 확산되어야 한다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉, 연령대가 높아질수록 태도에 의해 사용의도가 결정되는 추세를 발견할 수 있었다. 이런 결과가 나타나는 이유는 전자교재에 대한 개념이나 역할에 대한 충분한 공감이 형성되지 않았기 때문인 것으로 풀이된다. 특히 연령대가 높아질수록 태도에 의해서만 사용의도가 결정되는 경향이 강하게 작용하고 있었다. 이것은 구체적인 사용경험이 충분하지 않기 때문에 사용하는 것이 좋겠다는 의지만으로 사용의도를 결정하는 것이다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 차이가 두드러지게 나타났다는 점이다. 남학생들은 비교적 단순한 구조에 의해서 사용의도가 결정되는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 여학생들은 사용의도에 대해서는 다양한 요인들이 영향을 주고 있었다. 이런 결과가 나타난 것은 매체사용 자체에 대한 인식이 남학생과 여학생이 다르기 때문인 것으로 풀이된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze students’ intentional use of e-book for distance learners with the various generations and gender. Five variables were applied to build a technology acceptance model. The participants of this study were 2,999 college students of a distance university. Structural equation model was applied to analyze the data. The participants were categorized into different age groups such as 20’s=583, 30’s=863, 40’s=960, and 50’s=593 as well as their genders. The goodness of model fit was evaluated with TLI, CFI, and RMSEA. The data analysis revealed that the overall technology acceptance model with five variables was evaluated to reach the model-fit. The direct variables were the media usefulness, subjective norm, self-efficacy, and attitude. The media usefulness and subjective norm had negative relationships with the intension of use. The results indicated that there were various distinctive patterns of TAM depending upon students’ age generations and genders. It was discovered that 30’s students showed strongest value of highest variable to buy. Male students showed significantly higher intension to use e-book.
