칸트는 선험철학을 진리의 논리학으로 논의한다. 범주의 진리 검증은 범주가 선험적 종합판단과 경험의 성립에서 그 타당성이 입증된다. 경험 독립적이고 경험 선행적인 범주는 경험과 판단의 성립 근거로서만 진리 검증을 통과한다. 칸트는 이것이 가능하다고 보았다. 범주의 진리 검증은 판단에서 규정하는 술어로 작동하는 것을 통해서 그 타당성이 검증된다. 인식의 확장에 범주가 필연적으로 작용하기 때문에 인식 확장에 기여하는 범주는 진리를 통과한 것이다. 이 검증은 전건 긍정의 형식으로 그 타당성이 입증된다. 반대로 후건부정은 범주의 진리 검증이 성립할 수 없다고 주장한다. 이 논문은 칸트의 범주가 지니는 진리 검증 요구를 전건긍정을 통해 진리 일치로서 주장하는 것에 강조점을 두었다. 그리고 후건부정에서 확인되는 반례를 통해서 칸트의 범주 진리 검증이 타당성에 있어서 제한을 받는다고 논의했다. 하지만 이 타당성의 제한은 선험철학의 기획이 제한되는 것을 뜻하지 부정되는 것은 아니다.
Abstract
Kant discusses transcendental philosophy as the “logic of truth”. The validity of a category’s truth test is demonstrated both in the establishment of a priori synthetic judgement and in the condition of the possibility of experience. The experimental independent and experimental precedent category passes the test of truth only as a basis for establishing the condition of the possibility of experience and a priori synthetic judgement. Kant saw this as much as possible. The validity of a category truth test is verified by the adequate use of determinant predicate in judgement. Since categories inevitably act on the expansion of knowledge, categories that contribute to the expansion of experience have passed the truth verification. This verification proves its validity in the form of modus ponens. On the contrary, the form of modus tollens claims that the verification of the truth of the category cannot be established. However, this limitation of the range of validity implies that the plans of Kant’s transcendental philosophy are limited but not rejected.
