이 연구는 <소년심판>의 흥행 코드를 살펴보고, 스토리텔링 전략을 밝혀내는 데 목적을두었다. <소년심판>은 소년범죄라는 소재를 풀어가는 방식에 있어서 로컬의 글로컬화를 통해 지금 우리의 이야기를 하여 글로벌 시청자들의 공감을 얻어 내는 데 성공하고있다. 특히 소년범죄의 과정이 아닌, 범죄 이유에 주목함으로써 범죄 이면에 있는 가족, 사회, 국가의 문제를 다룬다. 또한 열린 결말을 통한 시즌제 운영 방식을 취하여 이야기를 확장해 나가려 한다. 이 과정에서 접근 방식과 관점을 변주하여 세계관의 확장과 캐릭터들의 성장 역시도 기대하게 한다. 이 지점까지는 기존의 넷플릭스 드라마의 흥행코드를 따르고 있다. 그러나 소재를 단순히 자극적으로 소비하기보다 다양한 문제의식을 제시하며 이러한문제를 정면으로 돌파한다는 점에서 다르다. 때문에 드라마의 가치가 부각되면서 작품성을 확보할 수 있었다. 이처럼 자극적이고 오락적인 요소를 앞세우지 않더라도 작품성을 확보할 수 있다면 충분히 흥행할 수 있다는 가능성을 입증한 드라마라는 점에서 <소년심판>의 드라마적 가치를 찾을 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the box office codes of <Juvenile Justice> and to reveal the storytelling strategy. <Juvenile Justice> is succeeding in gaining sympathy from global viewers by telling our story through local glocalization in the way it solves the subject of juvenile crime. In particular, it deals with the problems of the family, society, and the state behind the crime by focusing on the cause of the crime, not the process of juvenile crime. In addition, we try to expand the story by adopting a season system operating method with an open ending. Up to this point, it is following the box office code of existing Netflix dramas. However, rather than simply stimulating consumption of materials, it presents a variety of critical mind and breaks through these problems head-on. Because of this, the value of the drama was highlighted and the quality of the work was secured. Th e dramatic value of <Juvenile Justice> can be found in that it is a drama that proves the possibility that it can be successful enough if it can secure work quality even if it does not put stimulating and entertainment elements at the forefront.
