초등 통합교과 ‘즐거운 생활’의 음악 영역 문제점 분석 및 외국 음악과 교육과정 고찰을 통한 방향 제시

본 고의 목적은 국내외 음악과 교육과정의 분석을 통해 우리나라 초등학교 저학년의 음악 교육 개선 방향에 대한 시사점을 논의하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등 통합교과 ‘즐거운 생활’ 교육과정의 내용 체계와 2015와 2022 개정 ‘즐거운 생활’ 교과서 내 음악 관련 활동을 살펴보았고, 주요 선진국 중 미국, 일본, 영국의 초등학교 1, 2학 년 음악 교육과정의 내용 체계와 음악 교과서 예시를 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 토대 로 향후 초등 1, 2학년 음악교육의 개선 방향에 대해 제안하였다. 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫 째, 초등 1, 2학년부터 독립 교과로서 음악 교과를 필수적으로 이수할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 초 등학교 1, 2학년 학생들에게 음악 요소 및 개념을 체계적으로 지도함으로써 음악적 문해력을 강조한다. 셋째, 초등 1, 2학년 학생들의 음악적 역량을 발달시키기 위해 다양한 음악 활동과 음악 경험에 대한 구체화가 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the implications for improving music education for lower grades of elementary schools in South Korea through the analysis of domestic and foreign music curricula. To this end, we first examined the content of the elementary school integrated curriculum 'Pleasant Life' according to the 2015 revised curriculum, as well as music-related activities in the 2015 and 2022 revised 'Pleasant Life' textbooks. Additionally, we analyzed the music curricula and music textbook examples for elementary grades 1 and 2 from the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Based on these analyses, suggestions for improving music education for elementary grades 1 and 2 were proposed. The implications are as follows: First, it is necessary to take music as an independent subject starting from the first and second grades of elementary school. Second, musical literacy is emphasized by systematically teaching music elements and concepts to first and second graders of elementary school. Third, in order to develop their musical competencies, various musical activities and music experiences are required to be specified.
