선교학에서 수치심 문화에서의 상황화 차원에서 수치심과 연관시켜서복음을 제시하는 방법들이 간헐적으로 연구되고 제시되었다. 그러나 서구 선교학은 죄책감 문화인 서구에서 형성되었기 때문에 수치심에 대한연구는 지배적인 동향은 아니었다. 서구에서도 포스트모더니즘의 물결과 함께 수치심에 대한 관심과 강조의 흐름이 등장하였다. 수치심의 주제는 비판적 실재론에 입각해서 심리학, 문화인류학 뿐 아니라 신학을 포함한 포괄적이고 통합적인 학제적 연구로 나아가야 한다. 오늘날 성경신학에서 사회학적, 문화인류학적 접근이 성행하고 있는데, 그 중에서 명예와수치 문화의 관점에서 성경을 읽는 것은 더욱 풍부한 이해와 통찰력을 가져온다. 선교학적으로도 수치심 문화에서 상황화의 필요성에 대한 재조명이일어나고 있다. 이러한 경향은 과거와는 달리 성경신학적 성과물과 통합되어 신학의 상황화를 지향하고 있다는 것이다. 명예-수치의 관점은 소위 수치심 문화에만 국한된 것이 아니라, 오늘날 서구에서도 중요한 이슈로 등장하고 있다. 성경이 쓰인 배경이 명예-수치 문화였음을 고려할 때명예-수치의 관점은 성경해석학적으로도 정당한 것이다. 그러나 이 관점은 전통적인 죄책 중심의 서구신학을 약화시키거나 대립하는 것이 아니라, 잘 어울려져서 보다 풍성하고 통합적인 신학의 방향으로 가야 한다. 명예-수치의 문화 속에 있는 대부분의 비서구 선교지 사람들과, 포스트모던적 상황 속에서 수치심을 재조명하는 서구적 상황을 고려해서복음이 들리도록 전달하는 것이 선교적 사명이라면, 이러한 신학의 상황화 작업은 절실하게 요구되는 것이다.
Abstract
In missiology, methods of presenting the Gospel in relation to shame in the context of shame culture have been intermittently studied. However, the study of shame was not the dominant trend because Western missiology was formed in the Western culture of guilt. In the West, with the advent of postmodernism, a flow of interest and emphasis on shame emerged. The subject of shame should be studied in a comprehensive and integrated interdisciplinary way including theology as well as psychology and cultural anthropology based on critical realism. Today, sociological and cultural anthropological approaches are prevalent in biblical theology. Among them, reading the Bible from the perspective of honor and shame culture brings richer insight and understanding. Missiologists are reexamining the contextualization of shame culture. Unlike the past, this reexamining is toward a contextualized theology that is integrated with biblical theological achievements. The view of honor-shame is not limited to the so-called shame culture, but is also emerging as an important issue in the West today. Considering that the background in which the Bible was written was a culture of honor-shame, the view of honor-shame is also justified in the dimension of biblical hermeneutics. However, this view should not weaken or oppose the traditional guilt-centered theology, but rather go in the direction of a richer and more integrated theology. Considering the mission of preaching the gospel to be heard in most non-Western mission fields in the culture of honor-shame, and in the western context that re-examines shame in a post-modern context, the work of this contextualization of theology is desperately needed.
