Abstract
In modern society, both the physical and social environments play a crucial role in shaping customer behavior. This study examines the impact of social servicescape on customers’ behavioral intentions in the context of Korean restaurants, aiming to enhance service quality. Specifically, human service, customer similarity, and customer-fit behavior were identified as key servicescape variables, and their influence on relationship continuity with customers was analyzed through positive and negative emotional responses. To empirically validate the proposed model, statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 26.0 and SmartPLS. The findings indicate that human service, customer similarity, and customer-fit behavior all significantly contribute to positive emotional responses. However, while human service and customer similarity did not affect negative emotions, customer-fit behavior was found to have a significant impact. Furthermore, positive emotions directly influenced relationship continuity, whereas negative emotions did not exhibit a direct effect. Among the key determinants of relationship continuity within the social servicescape, human service was identified as the most influential factor, followed by customer-fit behavior and customer similarity in fostering positive emotions. These findings highlight the need for strategic implementation of social servicescape elements that enhance positive emotional experiences among restaurant customers. Future research should further explore sources of discomfort and other factors contributing to negative emotions, developing effective emotion management strategies to promote customer retention in Korean restaurants.
