본고는 기혼 여성의 노동시장참여 행태의 동태적 변화에 초점을 맞춘 연구로서 특히 상대적으로 열악한 2차노동시장에 직면한 기혼 여성의 고용형태별 상태의존성에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 사건계열 그래프와 미관측 이질성 및 내생성을 고려한 동태적 패널 다항로짓 모형을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 비정규직 혹은 비임금근로의 함정효과가 존재함을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 일단 비정규직으로 진입한 경우라 할지라도, 비정규직 근로에서 미취업으로 이행할 확률에 비해서는 비정규직에서 정규직으로 이행할 확률이 높았다. 그리고 전기에 정규직 근로를 하던 기혼 여성의 경우 다른 고용형태에 비해 정규직 유지 확률 및 취업 계속 확률이 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이때 정규직 근로 확률은 비정규직 혹은 비임금근로에 비해 보육변수들의 영향을 보다 크게 받는 것으로 분석됐다.
Abstract
This study looks into the dynamic changes in the participation behavior of married women. Specifically, I look into the importance of state dependence in married women facing entry into secondary labor markets characterized by relatively poorer conditions. The empirical tool applied to study the state dependence is a dynamic panel multinomial logit model. The main findings of this study are as follows. Strong state dependence exists in cases where the current employment status is the same as the previous status. This lends support to the existence of a 'trap effect' in irregular or self-employment jobs. However, even in cases where one re-enter into an irregular job, the odds of transitioning to a regular job were higher than becoming jobless. I also find that women in regular jobs tend to have higher odds of remaining in regular jobs and continued employment, compared to those in other employment statuses. Results suggest that the probability of joining a regular job is affected by child-care related variables more strongly than in the case of joining other employment statuses.
