Abstract

In informatics subjects that emphasize computing-based problem solving, project-based learning serves as a key instructional approach. It provides proactive learning experiences and enables multi-faceted assessment of learning processes and outcomes, thereby empowering learners to actively respond to future social changes. This study aims to extract and analyze the project-related content presented in the 2022 revised informatics curriculum. The goal is to derive the meaning, characteristics, and considerations of project-based learning and propose a design and assessment plan for project-based learning in the informatics subjects. The results of this study are as follows: First, the significance and key considerations of project-based learning in informatics subjects were presented. Second, the processes and elements of project activities, as well as how to monitor and assess the learners' project activities, were provided. Third, a plan for the collection and use of project activities and results, in conjunction with portfolio assessment, was proposed for the process-oriented assessment of project-based learning. It was suggested that digital technologies could be used to support the documentation and management of learning content and to automate recording and assessment.
