아니카 이 작품을 통해 본 포스트휴먼적 비인간의 미학적 표현

본고는 ‘아니카 이’ 작품을 포스트휴먼 미학의 맥락에서 파악하고자 한다. 나아가 이를 통해 현대미술 작품에서 나타나는 인간-비인간 요소의 관계맺음이 동시대 포스트휴머니즘 담론과 어떠한 방식으로 접속할 수 있는지 그 가능성을 실험하고자 한다. 특히 비(非)인간을 사유함에 있어 미학적 도구가 아니라 '행위자'와 '행위자'의 관계성에 입각해 이들 존재를 파악해야 한다는 점을 강조하였다. 요컨대 근대적 인간중심주의를 탈피하여 탈-인간중심적 사유로의 전환을 이룸으로써 ‘인간’을 새롭게 정의하고 나아가 비인간으로서 차별받던 존재들에 대해 새롭게 성찰하고자 하는 것이다. 결론적으로 본 논문은 아니카 이의 작품세계를 근대적 인간중심 사유가 초래한 무분별한 기술개발과 환경파괴 문제를 재성찰하는 포스트휴머니즘 사유의 미학적 출현이라고 평가하고자 한다. 또한 아니카 이의 작품은 인간-비인간 관계를 공존/공진화로 제시함으로써 근대 휴머니즘에 대한 대안적인 인식을 제공한다는 점에서도 그 의의가 크다.
Abstract
This research attempts to understand the work of ‘Anicka Yi’ in the context of posthuman aesthetics. Furthermore, through this, I want to experiment with the possibility of how the relationship between human and non-human elements in contemporary art can be connected with the contemporary posthumanist discourse. In particular, it was emphasized that the existence of non-humans should be grasped based on the relationship between 'actors' and 'actors' rather than as an aesthetic tool. In short, by breaking away from modern anthropocentrism and making a transition to post-anthropocentric thinking, it is intended to define 'human' anew and to reflect on the beings who were discriminated against as non-humans. In conclusion, this research intends to evaluate Anicka Yi’s art world as an aesthetic emergence of post-humanist thinking that re-examines the problem of reckless technological development and environmental destruction caused by modern human-centered thinking. Also, Anicka Yi’s work is significant in that it provides an alternative perception of modern humanism by presenting the human-nonhuman relationship as co-evolution/co-evolution.
