본 논문은 의미 이후에 살아남은 것에 대해 논의한다. 의미의 내부 공백으로 인해 보지 못하고, 침묵으로 인해 듣지 못하는 언어가 어떻게 존재 가능한지 살펴본다. ‘바깥’의 사유를 하는 블랑쇼의 문학의 공간을 예술의 공간으로 가지고 온 전시 《흔들리는 언어 Afterlife of Language》를 통해 언어의 존재 방식을 논의한다. <눈먼 언어>, <언어의 성취>, <흔들리는 언어> 등 세 점의 영상 작품을 통해 언어의 비가시성, 언어의 성취가 언어의 소멸과 일치하는 지점, 그리고 언어가 기다림과 망각으로 존재하는 것임을 고찰한다. 언어는 닫힌 공간으로서의 의미와 닫힐 수 없는, 의미화할 수 없는 공간으로 분열된다. 이 분열을 초래하는 것은 의미 이전에 존재하고, 의미가 사라져도 남아 있는 ‘빈 공간’이다. 그리고 바로 이 ‘빈 공간’이 언어가 향해 가는 곳이다. 언어는 바깥을 향해 열려 있는 의미 내부에서 보이지 않고, 들리지 않아 낯설고 불안정한 의미의 타자에게 자신의 시간을 건넨다.
Abstract
This paper discusses survival after meaning. We explore how a language that cannot be seen due to the void and cannot be heard due to silence can exist. We discuss the way of existence of language through the exhibition Afterlife of Language, which brings the space of literature of Blanchot who thinks of 'outside', as a space of art. This paper delves into the invisibility of language, the point where the achievement of language coincides with the disappearance of language, and the way of being of language through waiting and oblivion by <The Blindness of Language>, <The achievement of Language>, and <The Oscillation Language>. Language is divided into meaning as a closed space and a space that cannot be closed and cannot be signified. What causes this division is the 'void' that exists before meaning and remains even after meaning disappears. And the ‘void’ is where language goes. The invisible and inaudible language gives its time to the unfamiliar and unstable other in the inner space open to the outside.
