이 연구는 한국 전위미술의 전개 과정에서 프린트 요소의 기법적 수용이 아방가르드 운동에 기여했고 한국 현대미술의 방법론에서 매우 유용했다는 것을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 판화적인 프린트 방법과 페인팅의 실천적 과정에서 이미지가 새롭게 정초된다는 것을 제시하며, 새로운 이미지 생성에 있어서 프린트 미디어의 특성과 감각적인 페인팅의 결합은 지속적으로 한국의 실험미술 이후 1980년대 등장한 민중미술과 1980년대 후반 포스트모더니즘과 이후의 동시대 미술의 특성에도 지속적으로 나타난다는 것을 규명하고자 했다. 서구 현대미술의 전위적인 지점에서 도입된 프린트 미디어 이미지들은 한국 전위미술에도 상당 부분 영향을 주었다. 연구자는 프린트 미디어의 방법론이 어떻게 동시대성을 획득하고 있는지 미술사적 접근을 통해 논하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to clarify that the technological acceptance of print elements contributed to the avant-garde movement in the development of Korean Avant-garde art and was very useful in the methodology of Korean contemporary art. It also suggests that images are newly established in the practical process of engraving and painting, and the combination of print media characteristics and sensuous painting in the creation of new images is intended to clarify that print images continue to appear in the characteristics of Minjung art that emerged in the 1980s after Korean experimental art, postmodernism in the late 1980s, and contemporary art afterwards. From a vantage point in Western contemporary art, print media images also had a significant impact on Korean Avant-garde art. This paper aims to reveal how the methodology of print media is gaining contemporaneity through an art historical approach.
