지역축제 활성화 방안 연구 - 고양호수예술축제(GOYANG LAKE-PARK ARTS FESTIVAL 2011)를 중심으로 -

Abstract

Local culture festivals these days have great influence in improving and developing the image of a region. Korea, whose natural resources are limited, is especially making efforts to develop and applicate the specialty and cultural heritage at a maximum with tourist events such as these local festivals. Furthermore, local culture festivals should contribute to the local development from a social, cultural aspect and a regional image improvement. The ‘Goyang lake-park arts Festival’ was first held in 2008, and being the third time this year, it has been evaluated as successful, which shows the possibilities of the festival. To continuously develop this possibility, the efforts made by the ‘Goyang’ City along with the active and voluntary participation made by the city's citizens should be made. The biggest advantage of the ‘Goyang lake park arts festival’ is the participation of the people. This study focused on the festival's construct and evaluation of tourist who participated in it through "Tourists' Satisfaction Measurement by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism" along with a SWOT analysis to deduct the good parts and also the supplementary parts. Once continuously compensating the defects and nurturing its strength, the ‘Goyang lake-park arts festival’ will be able to act as a medium in promoting the local community's harmony and image, furthermore rising to the level of a 'true street festival.' Furthermore, the festival will not only be the representative festival of ‘Goyang’ City, but spread out to become Korea's, or maybe further, a worldwide global festival.
