인간-기술 네트워크에 의한 지각 및 기억의 외재화 연구: 피에르 위그의 <제 3의 기억>을 중심으로

Abstract

This study attempts to analyze that the process of perception and memory, which was considered an inherent process of the human subject, can be constructed from a mutually cooperative network of humans and technologies. To this end, I would like to examine at what point non-human objects, which were recognized as passive objects from modern dichotomy, can penetrate the human perception process from the standpoint of active actors, focusing on Pierre Huyghe's work <The Third Memory>(1999). These attempts can be explained around the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) raised by scientific-philosophy researchers, including Bruno Latour, which emphasizes the network of human and non-human actors, suggests that technological objects such as technology should be viewed as actors with human-like performance. Meanwhile, these issues raised by ANT are linked to the discussions of several technical philosophers who identified the relationship between humans and technology as a hybrid relationship. Among these, the discussion between Gilbert Simondon and Bernard Stigler makes us think of a new network environment between humans and technology, especially Stiegler, suggests that technology can be involved in the problem of human perception and memory, and argues that human subjects' perception and memory can be exteriorized through networks with technical objects through the concept of epiphylogenesis. In this context, this study traces the exteriorization process of human subjects' perceptions and memories embodied from Simongdon and Stiegler's discussions via Latour.
