1960년대 문학의 정치성을 ‘다시’ 생각한다

Abstract

In this study, I examine the base and characteristic of political nature of literature in the 1960's. For that, I investigate critic Kim Chuyeon's conceptions of 'petit bourgeois consciousness' and 'trivialism'. According to his view, trivialism let the events and things being itself through return to things and sensibility its own weight. This politics of trivialism refuse the existing orders which had been divided things and sensibility, and then reorganize that in the new orders. In that sense, trivialism was another name for the politics of literature as distribution of the sensible. The political nature of literature in the 1960's summarized as the politics of distribution of the sensible was a politics of de-politics which works only by separating literature from actual politics at last. And for the 4·19 generation, cynical subjective attitude work as a condition of possibility which make possible to invent the literature's own share as distinct from politics by making a break with real politics and constructing the interiority. That was a rout of founding the autonomy of literature as a form of modern liberty in the situation of underdeveloped modern in which freedoms are suppressed. Then literature in the 1960's was securing its own share by cynicism which construct isolated interiority and by a certain passive counter-identification. And we can't overlook the fact that it was related with intervention in the system of the sensible through sensibility and interiority on the other hand. The political nature of de-politics which showed literature of 4·19 generation in the 1960's was working in the overlap interaction of that two levels.
