The Linguistic Association of Korea Journal, 16(2), 255-271. This paper attempts to demonstrate new facts of linguistic processes using grammaticalization. It deals with general properties of grammaticalization and aims at a characterization of issues of how linguistic processes operate systematically within a particular language system. I consider the specific cases of grammaticalization with respect to the verb ‘to give’ in Korean and Russian.
