본 연구의 목적은 해방 이후 한국성결교회의 유학을 역사적으로 정리하는 것이다. 해방 이후 한국성결교회의 유학의 흐름은 크게 둘로 나눌 수 있다. 해방 이후부터 1975년까지와 1975년 이후이다. 전자의 경우 교단의 도움 없이 개개인이 유학의 길을 개척했다는 특징이 있다. 후자의 경우 교단의 지원이 활성화된 시기이다. 한국성결교회의 유학에는 중요한 세 가지 주제가 있다. 하나는 개척이며, 다른 하나는 장학생이다. 개척은 중의적 의미를 가지고 있는데, 초기 유학생들 은 교단의 도움 없이 유학의 길을 개척하였고, 유학지에서는 교회를 개척하였 다. 유학 개척의 시기가 지나자, 교단 차원의 지원이 등장하였지만, 그럼에도 실질적인 유학 개척은 유학생들이 하였다. 마지막으로 유학생들은 서울신학 대학과 여러 대학에서 후진양성에 힘을 보탰다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to historically analyze the studying abroad of the Korean Holiness Church after liberation in 1945. After liberation, the flow of studying abroad in the Korean Holiness Church can be largely divided into two: From liberation to 1975 and after 1975. In the former case, it is characterized by individual pioneering the way to study abroad without the help of the church. In the latter case, it is the time when the support of the church began to be activated. There are three important topics for studying abroad of the Korean Holiness Church. One is pioneering, and a second is scholarship. Pioneering has a dual meaning, and early international students pioneered the way to study abroad without the help of the church, and pioneered the church in the foreign country where they studied. After the period of studying abroad without help of the church, support at the church appeared, but nevertheless, international students entered foreign schools that they wanted without help of the church. Finally, international students helped foster younger generations at Seoul Theological University and various universities.
