Abstract

The purpose of this study is to prove the regularization of the daily early morning prayer meetings of the Korea Holiness Church before liberation and its factors based on historical sources. One study mentioned the daily early morning prayer meetings of the Korea Holiness Church before the liberation, but it was an assumption with fragmented sources. This study analyzes the religious goal of the Korea Holiness Church by period, focusing on the articles of the Living Waters and minutes of the annual meeting. The Korea holiness Church aimed for a specific period of early morning prayer in the 1920s, and for the daily early morning prayer meetings in the 1930s. With these analyses, it was concluded that most of the Korea Holiness Church held the daily early morning prayers before liberation. In addition, it analyzes three factors that influenced the regularization of the daily early morning prayer meetings of the Korea Holiness Church.
