이 글은 근세 한국 선불교의 아버지로 일컬어지는 경허 선시의 표현 원리를 어휘, 문장, 작품 단위의 수준에서 연구한 논문이다. 먼저 어휘 단위의 수준에서는 체언과 용언 계열로 나누어 논의를 진행했는데 체언 계열어에서는 활적 자질어가 살적 자질어보다 압도적으로 많았고 용언 계열어에서는 양자가 비슷한 비중으로 나타났다. 매우 다양한 체언 계열어의 출현에는 불교 존재론인 연기론의 다양성의 원리, 용어 계열어의 비슷한 비중의 출현에는 살활 균형성의 원리가 각각 작용한 것으로 보았다. 문장 단위의 수준에서는 위 두 유형의 어휘가 서로 만나면서 활적 자질의 주체에 활적 서술어, 활적 자질의 주체에 살적 자질의 서술어, 살적 자질의 주체에 활적 자질의 서술어가 호응하여 각각 활활, 활살, 살활의 통사 구성 원리를 보여주었다. 작품 단위의 수준에서는 이러한 문장이 작품 안에서 어떻게 전개되는가를 살폈는데 활활의 문장이 반복 되는 유형, 활살의 문장이 반복되는 유형, 살활의 문장이 교체되는 유형 등이 나타나는 것으로 파악하였다.
Abstract
This paper is written in order to research for the expression principle of Kyong Hoe's Seon poetry in three units. Those units consist of word level, sentence level, work level. Firstly, I studied the expression principle of Kyong Hoe's Seon poetry in the dimension of words. I found the words are very various in the vocabulary style of the substantives. I thought this phenomena are based on the principle of Buddhist variety. And I found two kinds of style word - form style word and emptiness style word - keeps their balance each other in the vocabulary style of the declinable word. I thought this phenomena are based on the principle of Buddhist balance. Secondly, I studied the expression principle of Kyong Hoe's Seon poetry in the dimension of sentence. There are two kind of the vocabulary style of the substantives: those are form style word and emptiness style word. And the vocabulary style of the declinable word were linked to two kind of the vocabulary style of the substantives making several kinds of sentences. There are appeared three kinds of sentences: those are the sentences of the form style vocabulary of the substantives word+the form style vocabulary of the declinable word, the sentences of the form style vocabulary of the substantives word+the emptiness style vocabulary of the declinable word, the sentences of the emptiness style vocabulary of the substantives word+the form style vocabulary of the declinable word. Thirdly, I studied the expression principle of Kyong Hoe's Seon poetry in the dimension of work. There were three kinds of work style according to development of sentences: those are the expression principle of form style sentence+emptiness style sentence repeating, the expression principle of form style sentence+emptiness style sentence changing, the expression principle of form style sentence+ form style sentence repeating. Until now I tried to study the expression principle of Kyong Hoe's Seon poetry in three units. But there must be remained the other subjects to study Kyong Hoe's poetry. I might continue researching the structure of Kyong Hoe's all poetry in the near future, for example, what is the relationship of recognition and lyric in his all poetry?.
